The CX-60 offers a range of new Skyactiv powertrains, each designed for high output and efficiency. The first is the petrol e-Skyactiv G 3.3-liter turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine, optimized for fuel and power efficiency with a lightweight design comparable to a four-cylinder engine, improving handling. It also features M Hybrid Boost (MHEV), a mild hybrid system that stores energy during deceleration and uses it to assist the engine during acceleration and light-load driving. The second option is the 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder Skyactiv G engine, known for its fuel efficiency and responsive performance, especially during acceleration. All powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with a clutch for quicker, more manual-like shifting, aligning with Mazda’s Jinba-ittai driving philosophy.

CX-60’s longitudinal powertrain layout allows i-Activ AWD to give you the best of both worlds: the neutral cornering characteristics of a rear-wheel-drive system combined with the reassuring stability of all-wheel drive. This full-time AWD system primarily delivers power to the rear wheels for the superior handling associated with the sports car’s classic FR configuration, yet continuously monitors driving conditions to dynamically direct power to any of the four wheels as necessary. The result is a new level of high-speed, straight-line stability on highways, inspiring handling on winding roads, and reliably stable traction on snow or slippery surfaces.
